Nedgia, the Naturgy Group gas distributor, and Hercesa | hi! Real Estate, a leading developer nationwide and present in eight different countries, have signed a partnership to facilitate the use of renewable gases, especially biomethane, in the real estate group’s new developments in Spain.
The first developments that will include the connection equipped for the use of renewable gas will be located in Barañain (Navarre): two developments with a total of 175 homes for which construction began in January.
The agreement between the companies also includes the possibility of bringing renewable gas to homes in Berrocales, Madrid, and to the almost 1,000 homes handed over each year by Hercesa | hi! Real Estate.
With this deal, the two companies agree on the importance of making the energy system more reliable and flexible, contributing to independence from foreign energy, as well as promoting energy solutions that help to develop the circular economy.
The agreement also contemplates Nedgia advising on the different uses of renewable gas for supplying buildings with energy and the high-efficiency appliances available for renewable gas.
“We are extremely proud to be pioneers in the use of biomethane in our developments as we are committed to the circular economy generated by renewable energies, given that the commitment to our clients is to be at the forefront of environmental care,” said Juan José Cercadillo, CEO of Hercesa | hi! Real Estate.
“The gas sector is immersed in a decarbonisation process that can replace half of all consumption in Spain by adopting biomethane, so the agreement with Hercesa | hi! Real Estate is another example of our commitment to continue opting for solutions that foster an environmentally and economically sustainable energy transition through renewable gas and our distribution network,” said Raúl Suárez, CEO of Nedgia.
