Argus Biomass Conference returns to London

The 13th Argus Biomass Conference took place in London in April this year. Bioenergy Insight provides key take-aways from the event. The conference is one of the largest global biomass events, and provides opportunities for attendees to hear about new innovations in the pellet market, new industrial application of biomass and the opportunity for networking with industry experts. Clare Harbord, executive group director of corporate affairs at Drax, delivered the opening keynote.  She observed that the industry has a unique opportunity and responsibility to accelerate decarbonisation globally, adding that conferences are important in fostering collaboration and nurturing industry efforts to shape its response to major global challenges.  Summarising one of the industry’s major challenges as the shock to energy prices following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Harbord said the subsequent reaction to energy prices has placed renewed focus on energy security.  “The periods of turbulence we have seen highlights the need for diverse, secure supply of renewable power generation,” she said....
