Tokyo Cement Power plans biomass plant in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's Tokyo Cement Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyo Cement Group, is to build a power plant in the Uva Province.

The Dendro Power Project will convert branches from Gliricidia plants into 5MW of renewable energy, all of which will be supplied to the National Grid.

The project is estimated to cost around Rs.1.5 billion. Part of this will be financed by Tokyo Cement Group, with the remaining coming from bank loans.
