RevaTerra secures $1.265m seed funding for biomass materials platform
RevaTerra, founded in 2025, develops patent-pending formulations that convert forestry and agricultural residuals into higher-performance industrial energy materials.
The company employs machine learning algorithms to adjust formulations based on specific feedstock characteristics, addressing variability issues that historically constrain consistency in biomass products.
The $1.265 million (€1.18m) oversubscribed round included participation from BlueLake.vc's Deep Tech fund and mission-aligned private investors.
Capital will support product development, team expansion and manufacturing partnerships.
RevaTerra's core commercial proposition centres on deployment through existing production infrastructure, eliminating capital-intensive retrofitting requirements that typically burden biomass upgrade technologies.
The company's Arcana formulation - a white pellet engineered for industrial energy applications - is designed to operate within current production pipelines and operating conditions.
Jude Davies, chief executive and co-founder, said the financing enabled progression 'from technical validation into commercial execution', expanding customer programmes and manufacturing relationships whilst advancing the underlying technology.
The company has completed production trials using commercial pellet-manufacturing equipment, with independent testing reportedly demonstrating strong energy density, durability and handling characteristics.
BlueLake.vc framed the investment around rising global energy demand placing pressure on existing infrastructure. The firm cited RevaTerra's potential to enable coal-fired generation facilities to transition using domestic biomass feedstocks without costly retrofits.
The capital-efficient deployment model reduces barriers to adoption for industrial energy users facing evolving emissions requirements across North America, Europe and Asia.
