Platts to rename European biomethane GO assessments from 15 May

S&P Global Commodity Insights' Platts will update the names of its European biomethane guarantees of origin (GO) assessments from 15 May 2026, following a subscriber note published on 2 March.
The renaming aims to provide greater clarity around the geographic, feedstock, subsidy and certification status of each assessment. Underlying specifications, definitions and methodology will remain unchanged.
The updated names affect assessments covering the UK, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands, spanning waste, crop and manure feedstocks across subsidised, unsubsidised and certified categories.
In the UK, the six affected assessments cover waste and crop feedstocks. The two uncertified waste assessments — GORUC00 and GORUC01 — are renamed UK Subsidized Uncertified Waste GO Spot and UK Subsidized Uncertified Waste GO Year 01 respectively. The two certified waste assessments — ARGGB00 and ARGBY01 — become UK Subsidized Certified Waste GO Spot and UK Subsidized Certified Waste GO Year 01. The two crop assessments — AUKAC00 and AUKAD00 — are renamed UK Subsidized Uncertified Crop GO Spot and UK Subsidized Uncertified Crop GO Year 01.
Denmark has six assessments across waste and manure feedstocks. The subsidised waste pair — GORDA00 and GORDA01 — become DK Subsidized Certified Waste GO Spot and DK Subsidized Certified Waste GO Year 01. The unsubsidised waste pair — DBGOA00 and DBGOA01 — are renamed DK Unsubsidized Certified Waste GO Spot and DK Unsubsidized Certified Waste GO Year 01. The manure assessments — ADENA00 and ADENB00 — become DK Unsubsidized Certified Manure GO Spot and DK Unsubsidized Certified Manure GO Year 01.
Germany has two assessments. GORGA00 and GORGA01 are renamed DE GEG GO Spot and DE GEG GO Year 01.
The Netherlands mirrors Denmark's structure across waste and manure feedstocks. The subsidised waste pair — GORNA00 and GORNA01 — become NL Subsidized Certified Waste GO Spot and NL Subsidized Certified Waste GO Year 01. The unsubsidised waste pair — DBGOB00 and DBGOB01 — are renamed NL Unsubsidized Certified Waste GO Spot and NL Unsubsidized Certified Waste Year 01. The manure assessments — ANETA00 and ANETB00 — become NL Unsubsidized Certified Manure GO Spot and NL Unsubsidized Certified Manure GO Year 01.
