Pike County to buy land meant for pellet plant

In 2008 Indeck Magnolia LLC acquired 16 acres of land in the US, Mississippi, Pike County, on which it was planning to develop a $17 million (€13 million) wood pellet production facility.

However over two years later these plans remain to be realised and Pike County supervisors are now looking to repurchase the land.

Although Indeck has been reported to have invested over $1 million in the project to date, Wayne Dowdy, board attorney, filed a civil lawsuit back in December seeking permission to buy the land back for the original purchase price of $128,400.
