The Ministry of Industry and Tourism has provisionally approved two new projects in Andalusia under line 4 of the PERTE for industrial decarbonisation in Andalusia, for a total value of 16.6 million euros.
Specifically, Biotérmica Villanueva, in Villanueva de los Castillejos (Huelva) has obtained 12 million euros for a biomass plant to produce energy from orange waste.
A further 4.6 million euros will go to Biotérmica Villanueva in Lebrija (Seville), to generate renewable energy from olive pomace.
The project in Huelva is led by Enso, a renewable energy group, which signed an agreement with García-Carrión for the construction of a biomass plant at the Don Simón juice plant in 2023.
During the signing ceremony, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard, announced a donation of USD 1.5 million for prefeasibility and detailed engineering studies
