Green Arrow Capital acquires 4 biomethane plants

Green Arrow Capital (GAC) has acquired four biomethane production plants, continuing its commitment to the sector.

The €75 million agreement with Lazzari e Lucchini (L&L) made last year was completed through the GAC Fund and includes the acquisition of 4BIO S.r.l. Holding, which owns four biomethane plants, still partly under construction. L&L will remain a minority shareholder and will be involved in the management of the plants.

GAC aims to create a network of distributors that will feed biomethane into the network from the facilities, to be sold on the national gas network and through the proprietary distribution network.

Daniele Camponsechi, founding partner of GAC and CIO of the SGR, said: “We are very pleased with this transaction which allows GAC to consolidate its business presence in an innovative and strategic sector, as well as further strengthening the leadership of our group in renewables.”

Construction of the first plant acquired by GAC in July 2020 from Bio Verola was completed in September last year and was commended by the European Biogas Association as one of the top 50 ‘Renewable Gas Success Stories 2020’.
