Brazil power regulator licenses 5MW wood chip power plant
Brazil's power sector regulator Aneel has licensed a 5MW biomass project that won a contract in the A-5 energy auction held on 29 April.
Aneel's licences confirm the tax regularity and the legal, technical, economic, and financial qualifications of the projects.
Owned by local Predilecta Alimentos, the wood chip-fuelled plant will begin commercial operation on 1 January, 2021, if the project finishes on schedule.
All in all, 528.9MW of power was secured in the tender with an average price of BRL198.59 per MWh (€55.02).
As of now, Aneel has licensed 28 out of the 29 winning projects.
