US Congresswoman and World Bank rep to speak at WBA’s virtual conference

US Congresswoman Chellie Pingree and Marc Sadler of the World Bank are among those scheduled to speak at the World Biogas Association’s (WBA) virtual conference.

The event, which will take place from 18-21 May 2020, will include representatives from leading global organisations, governments and the biogas sector. WBA launched the event to “maintain the international dialogue” amid COVID-19 lockdown measures. The organisation aims to highlight the use of biogas globally, understand the barriers preventing industry growth and policy contexts, identify potential solutions, discuss innovations and address technological challenges and opportunities.

WBA’s event will break into regionally-focused sessions to look at industry developments and case studies from all over the world, as well as address the global outlook for climate change mitigation, biomethane development and carbon dioxide capture and valorisation.

The list of speakers includes: Janez Potocnik, former EU Commissioner and vice-chair of the UNEP Resource Council; Sandra Mazo-Nix of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition; Mohamed Bernannou, adviser to the Ministry of Energy in Morocco; Dr Andy Rees OBE of the Welsh Government, Harmen Dekker of the European Biogas Association, and many more.
