With nine owned anaerobic digestion (AD) plants, a vertically integrated supply chain and institutional backing from one of the world's largest pension funds, BioticNRG is building a platform designed to outlast the policy uncertainty that continues to hold back the UK's anaerobic digestion sector.  The acquisition of Evercreech Renewable Energy Limited in Somerset in South West England is, on one level, a straightforward transaction: a well-built food waste AD plant with 700m³/hr of biomethane injection capacity joining a growing portfolio. But for BioticNRG, the deal takes the company to nine owned AD plants across the UK, and marks the latest step in what has become a deliberate, regionally structured consolidation of the country's AD sector.  Thomas Minter, managing director of biogas at Palisade Real Assets, the fund manager that backs BioticNRG, is clear about what the company is trying to build.
