Biomass plant planned for Vietnam

A $59.16 million (€42.48 million) biomass power plant is to be built in the province of Phu Tho, Vietnam.

The facility will generate 40MW of renewable energy from agricultural and municipal waste.

Almost 3,500 jobs will be created at the plant when it comes online in 2013.

Vietnam High-Tech Renewable Biomass Energy Joint Stock Company has been contracted to build the plant, for which the Phu Tho provincial People’s Committee recently granted an investment licence.
