In Shropshire, UK, Bishop’s Castle Biomass Power looked set to acquire land on which it was planning to construct a biomass power plant.
However a recent meeting saw the development scrutiny committee agree to send the matter back to the Shropshire Council’s cabinet to review its decision.

Construction has started on a biogas plant in Bentley, Doncaster, UK.
Behind the scheme, which will convert 45,000 tonnes of food waste a year into renewable electricity and heat, is UK-based food chain by-product recycler Prosper de Mulder.

On 8 September 2010 wood pellet producer Enligna Canada’s Upper Musquodaboit-based pellet mill caught fire and burned throughout the night.
The fire was said to have started in the crushing facility at around 10.30am before it spread to the hoppers.
