ArborGen and GreenWood collaborate

A key player in the tree improvement and commercial production of trees ArborGen and GreenWood Resources, a global investment and asset management company, have formed a strategic business alliance.

The collaboration was formed to meet the growing demand for woody biomass with purpose grown hardwood trees in the southeastern region of the US.

'Our companies possess complimentary core capabilities and resources, which offer a unique opportunity for collaboration,' says Barbara Wells, president and CEO of ArborGen. 'By utilising our collective poplar science and management experience, we can work to fulfil the southeast region's need for biomass and meet the growing demand for wood, fibre and energy.'

The partnership will combine ArborGen regional nurseries and tree germplasm resources with GreenWood's proprietary hybridisation and Varietal development programme and its expertise in tree farm operations.
