VORN Bioenergy, a leading project developer and biomethane producer, has announced the launch of VORN Bioenergy Italia srl (VORN Bioenergy Italia).
This follows VORN’s acquisition and full integration of Alvus srl (Alvus), a Bolzano-based project developer in the biomethane and biogas sector last October.
As Italy transitions towards greener energy production, biomethane is expected to play a key role in the national energy strategy in the coming years, according to VORN.
The company added that, with its expertise and robust project pipeline in Italy - including more than 10 biomethane projects - the company is well-positioned to support this transition and to seize the opportunities with its new local operating entity VORN Bioenergy Italia.
Christof Erckert, managing director of VORN Bioenergy Italia and founder of Alvus, commented: “Alvus’ integration into the VORN Group, while simultaneously becoming the centrepiece of VORN Bioenergy Italia, marks a significant milestone in our journey, growing our joint project development competences with VORN’s expansive resources. This synergy is set to accelerate the realisation of our shared ambitions to harness green gases to their full potential.”
Thorsten Holl, CEO of VORN Bioenergy, added: “Introducing VORN Bioenergy Italia marks a major leap forward in our strategy to advance the biomethane industry in Italy and beyond. With the dedicated team in Bolzano, which is now part of the VORN Group, along with our combined expertise and commitment, we are able to set new standards in the development of low-carbon gas and fuel solutions.”
