3SIIF backs Estonian biomethane producer Bioforce for CEE expansion
Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund has invested in Bioforce, Estonia's leading biomethane producer with approximately 40 per cent market share, to fund expansion into Poland and Latvia.

Bioforce operates four plants across Estonia with combined biomethane output exceeding 250 GWh annually. The investment will support greenfield development targeting fourfold capacity growth to 1 TWh by 2032.

The company plans to enter the Polish biomethane market in 2027, with ambitions to develop and commission at least 10 plants across Poland over the subsequent five years. Strategic hires have already been made to lead Polish operations.

The expansion reflects growing regional demand for renewable gas. Policy support across Central and Eastern Europe, corporate offtake arrangements and energy security priorities are improving market visibility for biomethane producers. The investment reduces reliance on imported natural gas whilst diversifying energy sources across the CEE region.

Bioforce is owned by Amber Infrastructure Group (part of Boyd Watterson Global Asset Management) and represents 3SIIF's sixth investment across the region. Previous holdings include Cargounit (Poland's locomotive leasing business), Greenergy Data Centers (Estonia), Enery (renewables developer with 10+ GW pipeline) and R.Power (Polish renewable energy developer).
