Tokyo Gas acquires two biomass plants in Japan
Prominet Power Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokyo Gas Co, has acquired Fushiki Manyofuto Biomass Power GK and Ichihara Yawatafuto Biomass Power GK from an Equis Group investment fund.
Operations at Fushiki Manyofuto Biomass Power Plant are expected to begin in October 2021. The facility is currently under construction and will have a generation capacity of approximately 51 MW.
The Ichihara Yawatafuto Biomass Power Plant, which is due to be commissioned in January 2024, will have a generation capacity of 75 MW and construction is expected to begin in October.
These transactions are expected to increase Tokyo Gas group’s renewable power volume by around 126 MW and its total transaction volume will become more than 1,300 MW.
Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions Corporations, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokyo Gas, will be awarded as the owner’s engineering consultant and to be undertaking the operation and maintenance for Ichihara Yawatafuto Biomass Power Plant.
