A $30 million (€22.9 million) British Columbia, Canada-based wood pellet plant is close to being completed.

Located near to Burns Lake, the production facility will be operated by Pinnacle Pellet, one of the largest wood pellet manufacturers throughout North America.

The facility, which will be Pinnacles sixth project dedicated to making wood pellets, will produce roughly 400,000 tonnes of pellets a year from wood destroyed by mountain pine beetles.

When construction is completed by Q4 2010 the pellets will be exported to Europe and Asia. It will create 20 full-time jobs.
