Georgia Biomass to open its doors in May
Georgia Biomass, a subsidiary of Europe-based utility firm RWE Innogy, is expected to open its wood pellet plant later this year.
Located in Ware County, Georgia, US, the production facility will manufacture 750,000 tonnes of pellets annually from locally sourced waste materials.
According to the interim director of the Okefenokee Area Development Authority, the new plant will create 80 jobs, in addition to a market for locally-grown pine trees.
An opening ceremony will be held at Georgia Biomass' wood pellet production facility on 12 May 2011.
