EU approves Enagás Renovable Smart Farm Biogas collaboration
The European Commission (EC) has approved a collaboration beween Enagás Renovable, PreZero and ACES, to develop a Smart Farm Biogas project in Colmenar Viejo, in Madrid, Spain.
The transaction relates primarily to the market of organic waste treatment and the production of biogas (i.e. biomethane) to be sold through the Spanish gas network.
The EC concluded on 29 February that, under the EU Merger Regulation, the notified transaction was in keeping with competition law, given that the joint venture has negligible activities in the European Economic Area.
The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
