BioticNRG unveils leadership changes and rebrand ahead of European expansion
Backed by Palisade Real Assets, BioticNRG is investing in its people and expanding its bioenergy platform through a combination of operational investment and targeted acquisitions. The rebrand reflects the company's evolution from a UK-focused anaerobic digestion (AD) and composting business into one with broader European ambitions, and underscores its commitment to sustainability, innovation and long-term growth in the renewable energy sector.
Ed Bastow, who has spent almost two decades helping build both Material Change Limited and, more recently, BioticNRG, has moved into the role of Director, where he will lead the company's mergers and acquisitions strategy, with a particular focus on European markets.
"BioticNRG has gone from strength to strength in recent years and I'm excited about what lies ahead," Bastow said. "Our refreshed brand reflects the business we've become and our ambitious plans for the future, and these appointments ensure we have the right leadership team in place to deliver them while continuing to play an important role in the vital transition to lower-carbon energy."
Stefania Trivellato has been appointed Managing Director of BioticNRG Limited, succeeding Bastow in the role. Trivellato brings extensive technical and operational experience in managing anaerobic digestion and renewable energy portfolios.
"This is a really exciting time for BioticNRG and I'm delighted to be leading the team through its next stage of growth," she said. "We have a fantastic team in place, and I'm looking forward to building on the strong foundations already established as we continue to deliver sustainable bioenergy solutions for our customers and partners."
The company has also promoted Samuel Wicks to General Manager of Operations. Wicks, who has been with the group for almost eight years and previously led its AD operations, will now take responsibility for composting, maintenance and AD operations across the wider platform.
Stephen Burns, Managing Director of Palisade Real Assets, welcomed the changes: "These appointments are a great demonstration of the depth of talent within BioticNRG and position the business well for its ambitious growth plans. We look forward to supporting the team as they continue to build one of the UK's leading bioenergy platforms while pursuing opportunities across Europe."
BioticNRG owns and operates nine anaerobic digestion facilities and five composting sites across the UK, converting organic waste into low-carbon heat, electricity and transport fuel. The company is backed by APG Asset Management and managed by Palisade Real Assets.
