Biomass plant boom through new partnership

Biomass gasification technology company Zeropoint Clean Tech will work with Germany-based engineering company Envirotherm to build turnkey power plants.

Two plants are currently operational in Europe and construction on the first of the next eight projects is expected to begin before the end of this year. According to Zeropoint, these plants will range in size from 2MW to 20MW and be the first standardised biomass gasification plants in the global renewable energy market to be fully EPC delivered with performance warranties.

We are excited about this step forward in the biomass gasification market,’ says Zeropoint CEO John Gaus. ‘We feel many project developers have experienced difficulty in arriving at optimal technical solutions, as well as aligning proper resources, to reliably construct and commission operating projects.

‘Envirotherm possesses expertise in gasification and is well poised to construct numerous replications of standardised plant designs across Europe and North America.’

The partnership to create full EPC delivery of standardised biomass gasification plants will include relationships with OEM vendors, project financiers, feedstock providers, recovered wood suppliers and vendors of after-market services.
