The UK’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy has set out a proposal to close the country’s Feed-In-Tariffs (FITs) scheme.

In Ipswich, Suffolk, a six week trial is underway for biogas fuelled double-decker buses on one of the city’s main transport routes.
The trial began on 3 June, and has seen Ipswich Buses team up with Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania. The route for the trial runs from Ipswich’s town centre to Ipswich hospital.

Air Liquide has recently inaugurated a biomethane production unit in Cestas, near Bordeaux, France.
The new biomethane production unit uses organic matter from the agricultural sector to produce biogas, and purifies this biogas into biomethane.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued proposed volume requirements for 2019 under the Renewable Fuel Standard programme calling, among other things, for a 30% increase in biogas related fuel.

Skangas, a subsidiary of Gasum, has supplied liquefied biogas (LBG) to Furetank, a major Swedish shipping company.
The LBG was delivered to Furetank’s tanker ship, Fure Vinga, from Gasum’s biogas facility in Lidköping. The fuelling was carried out at the port of Gothenburg with the fuel transferred directly from tanker truck to ship.

Ørsted and Bigadan have finished construction on what they claim is Eastern Denmark’s biggest biogas plant.
