The 2024 Argus Biomass Conference brought together a gathering of biomass leaders on 23-25 April at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster, London. The event explored new innovations in the pellet market, new industrial applications of biomass, new procurement opportunities, and convened key companies and senior executives for three days of intensive networking. Theme of sustainability Alan Knight, director of sustainability at Drax, gave a presentation entitled Biomass is controversial - we need standards. In it, he said that the biomass sector is at a pivot, and that this pivot is defined by sustainability: “it’s important that we as a sector - for our customers and stakeholders - really start understanding what we mean by sustainability.
