SRE plans biomass plant

Renewable energy firm Southeast Renewable Energy is looking to build a biogas plant in Allendale County in South Carolina, US.

Costing $50 million (€37.57 million), the facility would generate 15MW of energy from timber residues.

Raine Cotton, Southeast Renewable’s president and CEO said that his company is ‘working diligently to get the last few steps of the project worked out, including permitting, that will allow the project to begin construction in early 2011.’

The plant is slated for completion in late 2012.
