New Zealand biogas company, Greenlane Biogas Technologies, is commissioning the world's biggest biomethane production plant in Montreal, Canada.
The project's estimated value stands at NZ $50 million (€32 million) and will produce up to 16,000 m3 per hour of biomethane.
This facility follows the commissioning of a smaller plant in the city of São Pedro da Aldei, in Brazil, which was the first of its kind in Rio de Janerio and valued at just under NZ $10 million.
New documents unearthed by GMB indicate that between 89 and 148 roles are expected to be lost at the plant around 31 March 2027.
The cuts could represent more than 30% of the site’s 465-strong workforce
GreenValue GmbH has advised Balance Erneuerbare Energien on the acquisition of a biogas plant portfolio spanning Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania — with a combined thermal input capacity of 46 MW.
