Explosion at Ishikari biomass plant hospitalises employee
An explosion took place at a biomass plant in Ishikari, Hokkaido in Japan today (19 July).
The local fire department and the plant's operating company said that an employee was rushed to hospital as a result.
Operated by Ishikari Bio Energy Godo Kaisha, a local organisation, the fire department received the alert at around 9.30am.
According to the authorities, the explosion took place in a building where biomass fuel enters the premises.
It is said the employee taken to the hospital suffered burns on his hands but was still conscious when being transported.
