Local authorities have greenlighted an application to build an anaerobic digester and associated infrastructure at Deal Farm in Bressingham, UK.
The plant will be constructed by Envitec, a Germany-based biogas constructor and solutions provider, who will also supply the necessary technology.
The system will convert pig and chicken manure and locally grown maize silage into bio-methane at a capacity large enough to be able to provide power for more than a 1,000 homes.
Once constructed, the plant site will consist of two large domed storage tanks with a digester and liquid storage tanks, a feed stock hopper, a CHP unit, pump room, a 10m-high flare, and a solids separator.
