DP CleanTech to build renewable power plant in China
DP CleanTech, a designer and commissioner and biomass- and waste-to-energy power plants, has signed a contract with Shougang Holding Tianguan Group to develop a biomass-fired power plant in Henan province, China.
The project, which will be China's first biomass-to-energy plant, will use the by-product feedstock from second generation ethanol production. It will be a key part of the cellulosic ethanol plant currently under construction in Henan province.
The power plant will use materials left over from the ethanol production process, thereby improving the energy efficiency of the entire project.
DP CleanTech's CEO Simon Parker said second generation ethanol production 'is in the early stages, and to be a part of this initiative is a responsibility that we take seriously'.
