St1 Biokraft supplies BioLNG to Destination Gotland ferries

St1 Biokraft has begun supplying liquefied biogas (BioLNG) to Destination Gotland's ferry operations for the summer season and Almedalen Week 2026, marking the Nordic biomethane company's first delivery to the Swedish ferry operator and its first supply of Swedish-produced biogas to the shipping sector.

The delivery is equivalent to renewable fuel for around 30 one-way crossings between Visby and Nynäshamn, of which approximately 10 are covered by Swedish-produced gas. Bunkering is being carried out in the port of Visby in cooperation with Avenir.

Sohrab Moshiri, Head of Sales at St1 Biokraft, described the delivery as a milestone for the company's ambitions in Baltic Sea shipping, noting that Swedish production capacity is still being scaled up. "Our ambition is to increase our own capacity so that, in future, we can supply only Swedish gas to this type of customer," he said.

Adam Jacobsson, Sales and Marketing Manager at Destination Gotland, said the company was pleased that a significant share of the order was Swedish-produced, contributing to a local supply chain for its energy needs.
