Sweden-based Vargardbuss is to purchase 11 buses with methane/diesel technology from Volvo Buses.
The order includes the Volvo 8500 intercity bus model and the fleet will begin running in July next year.

The 26 November 2010 will see a biogas plant open at the Sant’Antnin waste treatment plant in Marsascala.
250,000 tonnes of waste are produced yearly by the local residents and the new facility will use a large percentage of this producing renewable energy from 71,000 tonnes of waste.
