The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set to improve its waste management system by adopting waste-to-energy practices, reported The Times of India.
The corporation will construct a 152-acre waste-to-energy plant in Pyara Nagar of Sangareddy.

French utility EDF has abandoned its plan to convert its 1.2 GW Cordemais 2 coal-fired plant to biomass, with plans to cease power production by 2027, reported Montel.
France's CGT energy union said EDF CEO Luc Remont had previously informed staff representatives of the plans on 16 September.
