Few companies have had as much influence in shaping the space as PlanET Biogas, a global leader with a strong presence in North America. Bioenergy Insight spoke to Derek Hundert, president of PlanET – North America, to discuss the company’s history, technology and perspectives on where the biogas industry is heading.
Global leadership with a local presence
Derek explained that PlanET Biogas Group, founded in Germany in 1998, now employs more than 400 people worldwide and has delivered over 870 AD systems and more than 150 AD-to-RNG facilities. Celebrating more than 25 years in business, the company has earned a reputation for industry-leading technology, efficient designs and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
“In North America we started in Canada in 2006 as PlanET Biogas Solutions,” he said, “and then expanded into the US in 2013 with PlanET Biogas USA. Today we have more than 55 professionals in Ontario, Colorado and New York allowing us to combine local service with global expertise.”
