LC Energy founder and a director of Bioenergy Europe, UK Pellet Council Chair Mark Lebus met with Bioenergy Insight on the eve of his Bioenergy Europe board meeting in Brussels. He talks about accreditation, biomass engineering, the significance of sustainable supply chains and the importance of biomass as part of the renewable energy mix.

“If we were writing the programme today, I believe there would be more emphasis placed on how the bioeconomy could contribute to the climate crisis,” said Torfi Jóhannesson, senior agriculture and forestry adviser to the Nordic Council of Ministers, whose four-year programme was officially unveiled in June last year.

Primarily down to the input materials for the combined heat and power plant, biogas will contain pollutants such as hydrogen sulphide or siloxanes in different concentrations. Furthermore, depending on the production process, typical biogas parameters are a temperature of about 40°C and a relative humidity of 100%.
