In the US renewable energy firm Clenergen Corporation (CRGE) is planning to construct a number of biomass plants across India at a cost of around $100 million (€80.6 million). Trial runs have commenced at Sri Panchajanya Power’s 10MW biomass power project in Hingoli, Maharashtra, India. Sri Panchajanya is the wholly owned subsidiary of renewable power generation company Suryachakra Power Corporation (SPCL).

Infrastructure development company Gammon Infrastructure Projects and its special purpose vehicle (SPV) Punjab Biomass Power has commissioned its first biomass plant.
