In Surat, India, Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) is looking to build three biogas-fired power plants, which will generate 20,000 units of electricity a day.

Renewable energy company Laidlaw Energy Group is to acquire a biomass-fired power plant after it entered into a Letter of Intent on 7 February 2011.

In Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia, power business Quantum Power has completed its second biogas-fired power plant.
