UK supermarket chain Waitrose has opened a biomass-powered energy centre to reduce grid reliance at its Bracknell branch.
The centre uses sustainable woodchips from local areas to provide CHP and was opened by climate change minister Greg Barker.

The ribbon was officially cut on a new biogas facility in Tongeren, Belgium this month.

Clean energy company Mustus Energy has begun construction on the first of six new biomass plants in northern Alberta, Canada.
