Guangdong Chant Group to construct 80MW biomass plant in China

Chinese gas equipment manufacturer Guangdong Chant Group is expanding to bioenergy with a planned biomass cogeneration facility in Eastern China.

The 80MW plant, to be located in the city of Yongcheng in the Henan provice, will require an investment of 500 million yuan (€67.4m) and it will be completed in two phases.

Each phase will see the installation of a 130t/hr biomass boiler and a 40MW turbogenerator, with the first phase valued by Chant Group at 290 million yuan.

Construction is projected to begin in August 2016 and completion is scheduled for August 2017.

The facility is expected to process some 680,000 tonnes of agricultural and forestry waste in order to generate heat and electricity for the local community.
