Gasum and REMA open new biogas filling station in Vinterbro

Gasum, in partnership with REMA Distribution, has inaugurated a new biogas filling station for liquefied biogas (LBG) at REMA Distribution’s facility in Vinterbro, south of Oslo.
The new station is open to all operators with LBG-powered trucks and marks an important step towards more sustainable heavy transport in Norway.
Situated close to REMA’s warehouse and conveniently located near the E6 and E18 motorways, the Vinterbro site will help meet growing demand for biogas in the Oslo region.
Its proximity to the Oslofjord Tunnel also makes it an attractive refuelling point for logistics operators.
REMA provided the land for the project, aligning the new facility with its own environmental goals.
The company operates a significant fleet of biogas-powered vehicles, which collect goods from the Vinterbro warehouse.
The new station allows REMA to refuel directly on site, saving time and reducing unnecessary driving.
Although located next to REMA’s distribution centre, the filling station is open for use by all biogas transport operators.
“REMA Distribution will replace all fossil-fuelled owned transport capacity by the end of 2026, and all fossil-fuelled leased capacity by 2030,” said Anders Hustoft, Transport Director at REMA Distribution Norway AS.
“This station is an important step towards achieving our goal of climate-neutral transport. It simplifies logistics for our biogas truck drivers and enables our carriers to refuel easily and efficiently. Our collaboration with Gasum supports our growing biogas fleet, and continued development of biogas infrastructure is essential for meeting our climate ambitions.”
Jogeir Munkeby, Sales Manager Traffic Norway at Gasum, said: “We’re very pleased that REMA Distribution took the initiative to establish a biogas station at Vinterbro with us. The site is an important addition to Gasum’s national filling network and ideally located for heavy transport operators. We’re seeing strong and growing interest in biogas from major logistics players in Norway, which is key to reducing emissions in the transport sector and achieving national climate goals.”
