EnviTec Biogas has added three new contracts with first-time customers in Germany to its order book, securing gas upgrading projects that will be manufactured at the company’s Saerbeck facility in the coming months.
The first project, located in Biburg, Lower Bavaria, represents EnviTec’s debut in the Bavarian market following the construction of 112 biogas plants across Germany.
“The customer already operates a gas upgrading plant using water scrubbing technology, which will be decommissioned once our EnviThan upgrading plant has been installed,” said Christian Eilert, Area Sales Manager DACH at EnviTec Biogas.
Bioenergie Biburg’s Benedikt Bachmeier noted the challenging path to contract signing: “Nearly two years passed between our first contact at the Biogas Convention & Trade Fair in Nuremberg in 2023 and the signing of the contract – two years marked by political uncertainties, constantly changing market conditions and lengthy permitting procedures.”
The 1,000 Nm³/h biomethane plant is scheduled to begin feeding into the grid from July 2026.
A major project advantage, according to Eilert, is EnviTec’s supply of the booster compressor required to meet grid pressure, significantly accelerating the injection timetable.
Space constraints at the existing biogas site also played a role in awarding the project.
“Our flexible container-based design allows us to tailor the system to the structural limitations on site,” Eilert added.
EnviTec’s modular approach is also central to the second new contract, awarded by Hamme Energie GmbH & Co. KG in Osterholz-Scharmbeck near Bremen.
Here, an EnviThan gas upgrading unit is being constructed as an extension to the existing biogas plant.
The system is already in production in Saerbeck and is due for delivery in March 2026.
The 137 Nm³/h plant can be expanded to 232 Nm³/h of biomethane simply by adding membranes.
The upgraded gas will feed into the Osterholzer Stadtwerke network, using dairy cattle slurry, cattle manure and silage maize sourced from the operator’s own farm.
The third contract was signed in Reichardtswerben, Saxony-Anhalt, with a Dutch operator running a large dairy farming enterprise.
The plant will initially produce 200 Nm³/h of biomethane, expandable to 400 Nm³/h. Once completed, it will inject into the Ontras network to serve the fuel market.
“For this project as well, we have already ordered all components and can begin production as soon as the container arrives,” Eilert confirmed.
Production capacity at EnviTec’s Saerbeck facilities remains high as demand for biomethane solutions continues to grow.
