Three Atlas Copco Group technology brands — CRI-MAN, LEWA and Wangen Pumps — will present their combined portfolio of pumps, modules and systems for the biogas industry at World Biogas Expo 2026, taking place on 8–9 July in Birmingham, England. Together, the brands offer fully integrated solutions covering the full range of modern biogas and biomethane plant requirements.

At Booth E60 — Hall 3, visitors will discover how synergies between these leading technology brands support improved efficiency, reliability and operational flexibility across the entire biogas production process, addressing the most pressing industry challenges.

A consolidated response to evolving industry challenges

As the biogas sector evolves, operators are increasingly challenged by heterogeneous feedstocks and the proliferation of biomethane injection sites, rising performance expectations, increased processing volumes and the need for safe, compliant gas handling. Offering reliable and flexible solutions that span the stages of the production process with a consolidated approach, these prominent manufacturers effectively respond to these evolving industry challenges and trends.

By integrating complementary technologies from a single supplier, plant builders and operators reduce system complexity, improve compatibility and deliver consistent performance throughout the plant lifecycle.

CRI-MAN: Optimising digestion with effective digestate management

CRI-MAN mixers play a critical role in maintaining optimal biological conditions within the digester. By ensuring digestate homogeneity, they prevent crust formation, eliminate stagnant zones and support efficient bacterial activity, key factors in maximising biogas yield.

The flexible CRI-MAN mixer range can be adapted to different plant configurations, offering energy-efficient solutions tailored to specific operational requirements.

CRI-MAN screw press separators divide digestate into solid and liquid fractions, enabling easier handling, improved nutrient management and enhanced resource recovery. The liquid fraction can be reused for fertigation, while the solid fraction can be utilised as a soil improver, animal bedding, or for other applications. To convert the solid fraction of the digestate into hygienic bedding, CRI-MAN has developed a range of biocells with an integrated electronic system to monitor the hygienising process.

The CRI-MAN portfolio for the biogas industry is further complemented by chopper centrifugal pumps, which play a crucial role in conditioning and digestion. Their double-chopping system and highly efficient hydraulic design make them ideal for chopping, feeding and transferring tasks within and between digesters.

Wangen Pumps: Efficient substrate preparation and feeding

In the conditioning and digestion phases, Wangen Pump technologies ensure that substrates are optimally prepared and delivered to the digester.

The BIO-MIX 200, part of the BIO-MIX product line, is designed for large-scale plants and offers high-capacity mixing and pumping of solid-liquid feedstocks. Its progressive cavity pump technology ensures reliable conveying and consistent feeding into the fermenter, even with challenging materials. Rear-side injections allow the entire hopper chamber to be utilised as a mixing volume, improving overall efficiency. The unit delivers one of the highest flow rates in its class. It is suitable for processing maize silage, grass silage, GPS, solid manure, poultry manure, waste and co-ferments, all of which are mixed with liquid directly within the pump.

The BIO-ROXX module combines mixing and foreign matter separation, removing contaminants such as stones while producing a homogeneous substrate. This protects downstream equipment and enhances process stability.

Together with Wangen Pumps' range of progressing cavity units, the BIO-MIX and BIO-ROXX provide the foundation for efficient and reliable biogas production, positively impacting debris separation, mixing and feeding.

Integrated synergies across the biogas value chain

From substrate preparation to final separation, Wangen Pumps and CRI-MAN solutions work seamlessly together to ensure a smooth and efficient process, minimise flow downtime, reduce wear and enhance the overall plant performance.

This integrated approach provides clear advantages for designers and operators seeking reliable, high-performance systems from one single partner.

LEWA: Advanced odorisation for safety, precision and compliance

Completing the value chain, LEWA brings critical expertise in odour handling through its advanced, customised odorisation systems, an essential component for ensuring the safe use and distribution of biomethane.

In applications where gas is odorless, controlled odorisation is vital for leak detection and regulatory compliance. LEWA systems are specifically engineered to deliver highly accurate, reliable and safe dosing of odorants, even under demanding operating conditions.

At the core of these systems are LEWA's micro metering pumps, known for their exceptional precision and durability. These pumps enable exact and repeatable dosing of very small quantities of odorant, maintain stable performance across varying pressures and flow rates and require minimal maintenance thanks to their robust, leak-tight design.

The odorisation packages are fully customisable, allowing operators to adapt configurations to specific plant requirements, gas compositions and regulatory standards. In addition to precision, safety is a defining feature. LEWA systems are designed with leak-proof components and advanced monitoring capabilities, ensuring secure handling of often hazardous odorising substances.

Industry expertise under one roof

CRI-MAN, LEWA and Wangen Pumps are all part of the Atlas Copco Group, combining decades of experience and technical know-how. Together, they offer a strong support network for customers and partners, from project design through to operation and optimisation.
