Byont expands biogas operations with German acquisition

Byont Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG has announced the acquisition of a German biogas service provider, further strengthening its position in the biogas and bio-LNG sector.

The deal includes the full integration of staff and operational assets into Byont’s growing portfolio.

Byont, which focuses on building and operating renewable gas infrastructure, is expanding rapidly across Germany and Europe. With this latest move, the company gains access to additional biogas plants and technical expertise in Lower Saxony, a region rich in agricultural resources suitable for biogas production.

The acquisition, which took effect at the beginning of July, supports Byont’s goal of scaling up its renewable gas operations by developing efficient, decentralised production systems.

The company plans to use the new facilities to produce biomethane and liquid bio-LNG - low-emission fuels seen as crucial for decarbonising heavy transport and industry.

This transaction builds on a broader expansion strategy launched last year when Byont secured significant investment to create a European biogas platform.

That initiative included the purchase of facilities in other parts of the continent, with a focus on converting traditional gas infrastructure into sources of renewable energy.

The company has made clear its commitment to replacing fossil natural gas with sustainable alternatives. Through its new and existing operations, it aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions by harnessing organic waste and agricultural byproducts for energy production.
