Anaergia signs contract with Nortegas Renovables for biomethane project in Spain

The plant, scheduled for completion within two years, will process agricultural residues to produce renewable biomethane.
Anaergia will provide a full suite of services and deploy its proprietary technology for the project.
The Canadian-based company expects to generate revenues of around C$18 million (€12.2 million) from the contract.
Nortegas Renovables, which specialises in renewable gas infrastructure, said the agreement reflects its commitment to advancing the energy transition and circular economy.
“This new facility underlines Nortegas Renovables’ strong commitment to the energy transition and circular economy, promoting the widespread adoption of clean and sustainable fuels,” said Felipe Requejo Sigüenza, the company’s director general.
Anaergia’s chief executive, Assaf Onn, welcomed the partnership, describing it as an important milestone.
“We are very pleased to be working with Nortegas Renovables on this project, as it marks an important step in our journey to harness innovation for a cleaner, greener future,” he said.
The facility is expected to make a significant contribution to Spain’s renewable energy goals, while reducing reliance on fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
