Italian anaerobic digestion specialist Anaergia S.r.l. has signed amendments to three contracts with QGM S.à.r.l., expanding the scope of work at biomethane production facilities under development in northern Italy.

The amendments increase the total contracted value from approximately C$68 million to C$85 million — a rise of C$17 million — across projects in Ostellato, Copparo, and Derovere.

The three facilities, first announced between March and August 2025, will use Anaergia's anaerobic digestion technology to convert agricultural residues into renewable biomethane for injection into Italy's national gas pipeline network.

Assaf Onn, chief executive of Toronto-listed Anaergia Inc. (TSX: ANRG), said the expanded scope reflected the company's focus on "long-term, repeat partnerships while delivering scalable biomethane solutions."

The projects are expected to support Italy's decarbonisation targets by increasing domestic production of renewable gas.
