U.S. Gain agrees to purchase dairy-derived RNG from Brightmark Energy

U.S. Gain, a renewable natural gas company, has agreed to purchase dairy-based renewable natural gas (RNG) from Brightmark Energy.

Earlier this year, Brightmark Energy announced major investments at dairy farms across the US, including in Madison, Wisconsin, Washington, New York, Yakima County and Byron. With the help of Brightmark Energy, these dairy farms will produce enough RNG to fuel greenhouse gas (GHG) emission savings equivalent to removing 6,981 passenger cars from US roads for one year.

“U.S. Gain has extensive experience with the regulatory programmes allowing for the generation of environmental credits when dispensing the RNG as a transportation fuel,” said Bryan Nudelbacher, director of business development for U.S. Gain, “specifically the federal Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) and Oregon Clean Fuels Program (CFP).

“This experience, coupled with our connections to obligated parties, enables U.S. Gain to monetise credits at peak values, producing favourable returns for all project partners.”
