Tamar Energy to take on four anaerobic digestion sites

UK-based Tamar Energy has secured the management and development rights of four of the Countrystyle Group’s anaerobic digestion sites.

The deal sees Tamar Energy acquire the development rights to three of Countrystyle’s sites, with full planning permission for digestive facilities in the south of England, plus the development of a fourth facility subject to planning.

As part of the deal the newly formed Tamar Organics division will also take over the management and operation of six of Countrystyle’s in-vessel and open windrow composting sites across the South East and East Anglia. Countrystyle’s organics management team will transfer over as part of the deal.

‘We are delighted to be able to support Tamar Energy with its plan for a network of AD sites across the UK. Tamar’s acquisition will ensure that these projects have the funding and the best chance possible to be built out,’ says Countrystyle chairman Trevor Heathcote.

Countrystyle Group will supply of the fuel feedstock initially for the four plants and Tamar’s new organics division.
