St1 Biokraft expands leadership team for scale-up

Miika Johansson, CEO, St1 Biokraft, tells Bioenergy Insight about how the company plans to continue expanding its operation and activity.
St1 Biokraft is making a significant investment – over €1 billion – to scale up biomethane production and distribution across the Nordics.
“We are building upstream production and ensuring biomethane is available at scale to our customers by rolling out LBG stations. On the upstream side, we have a strong pipeline of new projects, both through greenfield developments and opportunities to acquire existing facilities, securing a growing and reliable supply of biomethane,” said Miika.
“On the downstream side, our goal is to open 50 new LBG refueling stations in the Nordics by 2028. Currently, we have four operational stations—three in Finland and one in Sweden—with several more under construction. In 2025 alone, we plan to open eleven new stations, including our first in Norway towards the end of the year.”
To accompany its major investment, the company recently announced two new key appointments to its leadership team.
