Repair works at Tilbury biomass station are likely to continue into the summer
Npower has announced that 2 of Tilbury Power Station's 3 generating units are likely to be out of use for at least another 5 months. This is in the wake of the fire that broke out at the plant last week.
It has been suggested that the third generator, which is situated in a different location and suffered less damage, could be up and running again by April. However, the other 2 units are unlikely to be in action again until July at the very earliest.
An internal investigation to determine the cause of the incident is underway.
