ReFuels signs landmark fixed-price Bio-CNG deal with major UK logistics operator

The multi-year agreement, signed by CNG Fuels – 40% owned by ReFuels – secures a fixed pump price across the company’s national network of Bio-CNG refuelling stations.
The arrangement gives the operator long-term fuel cost visibility and supports the rapid transition of its HGV fleet from diesel to 100% renewable biomethane.
“This first Bio-CNG hedging agreement marks an important milestone for the industry,” said Philip Fjeld, CEO and co-founder of ReFuels. “It demonstrates the logistics sector’s confidence in Bio-CNG as a proven, scalable and enduring solution for decarbonising heavy transport. The deal provides our customers with price certainty while giving us predictable, low-risk cash flows. We’re seeing strong interest from other major fleets, and we expect similar agreements to represent a meaningful share of our future volumes.”
CNG Fuels currently operates 16 public-access refuelling stations across the UK – the largest network of its kind – capable of refuelling more than 10,500 HGVs per day.
This equates to an annual dispensing capacity of over 340 million kilograms of biomethane.
The company plans to double its capacity by the end of 2028, expanding its network to refuel up to 20,000 vehicles daily and deliver over 780 million kilograms of Bio-CNG annually.
The increased supply would cut approximately 2 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year compared with diesel.
