S&P Global’s Platts business has proposed updating the names of its European biomethane Guarantees of Origin (GO) assessments, with changes set to take effect on 15 May 2026.
The proposal is intended to provide greater clarity on the geographic origin, feedstock, subsidy status and certification status of each assessment, allowing market participants to identify key attributes at a glance. Platts said the underlying specifications, definitions and methodology for all assessments would remain unchanged.
Under the proposal, the following symbol codes would be renamed with effect from 15 May 2026:
